Something big happened at Exchange LA the day after Christmas. Something worth dancing about.
Claude Von Stroke and Green Velvet are by no means new names in the EDM world. But Get Real is not a name we’ve seen a lot – until recently. Get Real, a collaboration between these two giant music producers, has been popping up more and more in the music world lately and it seems to be the start of something amazing. It’s no secret that house music is the best dancing music. Add some techno to the mix and you’ve got a non-stop funky beat that has you moving all night long!
Mixing two huge genres like this makes for two times the fan base. It is extremely cool to go to a show to see a genre you enjoy and learn about another one because it’s mixed right in with your familiar tunes. Insomniac does an awesome job of teaming up with clubs to bring music lovers the artists we adore in one night to tide us over until the next festival. Inception Saturdays at Exchange LA offers the best house and techno music on Saturday nights in Los Angeles. I’ve been to Exchange many times to check out all sorts of genres and artists, but I have to say that Inception is bringing down the house with the best vibes & good times – pun intended! The dynamic Get Real with support from the super funky, upcoming Will Clarke was the best day after Christmas present you could ask for. I have seen Get Real twice now – their amazing closing Escape: Psycho Circus set and again at Exchange this past weekend. And both times I have walked away with those bouncing beats stuck in my head for days.
You just cannot go wrong with tech house. This type of music provides a chill, laid back environment with a friendly feel that is drawing in more and more ravers and music fans as the days go on. This is upbeat, fun music that anyone can get into! And when you have a music giant like Claude Von Stroke casually chatting and taking pictures with fans before the show, this genre is bound to get tons of attention. It’s really cool to be able to say, “Oh yeah, I hugged Claude AND watched him shut down the club!” How many other genres let that happen on the daily? Big ups to the Dirtybird Record label and others like this for making the fan experience the number one priority.
2016 is going to be a big year for house and techno lovers alike. Be on the look out for Get Real at a festival near you. Now get out there and enjoy those funky beats!
