Lightning in a Bottle: Food and Learning Edition

One of my favorite places at Lightning in a Bottle is the Learning Kitchen. This is always a good place to go and escape the heat, while learning (and eating) about delicious food. There’s a full list of classes, so this is another experiential part of LiB that I suggest reading up on beforehand so that you can add them to your app schedule!

DIY Braids for Festival Season: Rainbow Hair Edition

There are a lot of gorgeous photos out there of girls with their hair styled perfectly at festivals, but not all of us have the budget to hire someone or have super talented friends in our repertoire to do it for us. That’s why I decided to try and see if I can take on braids, one of this year’s biggest festival hair styles, and create this DIY for this festival hair trend.

Electric Zoo Lineup 2019

Now that it’s been around for over a decade, Electric Zoo is doing some revamping of their image and mission as a whole. The new lineup poster has a sleek and simple look, with the title “Electric Zoo: Evolved”. Their website encourages attendees to “just think about the metamorphosis that a caterpillar undergoes to become an exquisite butterfly”. Thus, is the idea behind Electric Zoo: Evolved. Now that we finally have the lineup, we can start making plans for this incredible weekend. Here are five artists I’m going to be sure to catch, and here’s why you should, too.

Fighting Sexism With Success: The Women of EDM

I remember how shocked I was to discover that Rezz, a woman, was making heavier, darker music in a predominantly male-dominated industry. The sinking realization soon followed - if I, as a woman, was surprised by another woman’s success, how prevalent was sexism in the EDM community as a whole?

Women such as Wenzday, Festfashions, Tasha Tripp and Claudia Pena are all a part of a movement focused around fighting sexism and shaping the EDM industry into what its meant to be- a community of love, equality and acceptance for all.

This year was such a different experience with the venue and time change, but it was such an amazing one full of great memories and breathtaking music and production. Continue Reading
