Now that it’s been around for over a decade, Electric Zoo is doing some revamping of their image and mission as a whole. The new lineup poster has a sleek and simple look, with the title “Electric Zoo: Evolved”. Their website encourages attendees to “just think about the metamorphosis that a caterpillar undergoes to become an exquisite butterfly”. I remember how shocked I was to discover that Rezz, a woman, was making heavier, darker music in a predominantly male-dominated industry. The sinking realization soon followed - if I, as a woman, was surprised by another woman’s success, how prevalent was sexism in the EDM community as a whole?  

Women such as Wenzday, Festfashions, Tasha Tripp and Claudia Pena are all a part of a movement focused around fighting sexism and shaping the EDM industry into what its meant to be- a community of love, equality and acceptance for all.

What a crazy weekend Ultra Music Festival was! Miami is one of my favorite cities to visit and it is especially fun during Miami Music Week and Ultra weekend. There are so many events such as pool parties and shows leading up to the weekend of Ultra and it is such an amazing experience finishing the weekend at Ultra.
