It’s the start of a brand new year and that means one thing: Ultra Music Festival is just around the corner! I had the opportunity to attend Ultra last year for their 20th year anniversary, and it was such an amazing experience that was different from any other festival that I’ve attended. This year’s Ultra takes place March 29th - 31st, 2019 in Miama, Florida. This festival will see tons of changes this year, the most in the last 7 years, including playing for the first time at the Historic Virginia Key Beach Park and Miami Marine Stadium. All of these changes are super exciting and I think it will make the experience for all festival-goers even better!

Ultra Music Festival is known for their stacked lineup every single year, and it just keeps getting better and better with more surprises and debuts. Phase one of the Ultra Music Festival 2019 lineup dropped not too long ago and there are already so many amazing headliners and supporting acts this year. Some of the headliners include Martin Garrix, The Chainsmokers, Carl Cox, NGHTMRE and Slander for their Gud Vibrations set, Tiesto, Testpilot aka deadmau5’s techno alias, Illenium, Odesza, and many more. There are also lots of support artists on this phase, such as Cosmic Gate, Vini Vici, Kayzo, Jai Wolf, G Jones and also tons more. With an Ultra Music Festival lineup, you’ll never have an issue with deciding who to see because there are so many great artists at different stages, so you’ll definitely find an artist you’ll like or discover many new ones!

As I mentioned above, Ultra Music Festival is taking place at a different venue this year; from 2012-2018, Ultra took place at Bayfront Park - right at the heart of Downtown Miami right on the coast. The new location at the Historic Virginia Key Beach Park (about 6 miles from downtown Miami) and Miami Marine Stadium (about 4.5 miles from downtown Miami) definitely has some new perks. Not only is it a bigger venue, it will also host extended festival hours (previously Ultra ended before midnight each night since it was in the heart of downtown Miami). Check out their video about the new venue in this YouTube video:
Since this festival will now take place on the barrier island of Virginia Keys, Ultra has organized a shuttle system that all festival-goers have access to during the duration of the festival. Ultra has released a quick and simplified guide that can give you an idea of the shuttle system to Virginia Key Island for the festival. Head to the travel section of their website for more information about shuttles to Ultra Music Festival.

Although Ultra Music Festival has seen so many changes throughout the years, I believe that Ultra Music Festival is one of the United States’ most iconic and historic EDM music festivals. It has gathered so many fans from around the world into the beautiful city of Miami for some of the best music and artists in one weekend. My first experience at Ultra Music Festival last year was one of my favorite festivals that I have attended. The vibes are really unique at Ultra, unlike any other. I met tons of people who flew from all over the world to experience Ultra like myself. The production at Ultra is also different from any other festival that I have been to, with huge stages, crazy sound systems, and great design throughout the festival grounds. It’s a festival that I recommend everyone to experience: you might fall in love with the festival and the city of Miami as I did!
Ultra Music Festival tickets are still available, but hurry because tickets likely will sell out!
