Festival season is here, which means it’s time to start thinking about the best part about raving: our outfits!

For most of us, we have several festivals on our schedule already, which means several different outfits, which can also mean spending a lot of money on several different pieces. But for those of us who like to show out on a budget, the only key piece we all should invest in is the black bodysuit. 

In school, we’re always told to think about our future and what we are passionate about. Teachers push us to pursue a career in the working world and give us the tools to go after our dreams. They always show us options for your typical careers in medicine, science, business, etc, but never about careers that have to do with EDM! As ravers, this is a lifestyle that we love and we should be able to make a career that integrates our passions. 

Last year Lightning In A Bottle sold out for its first time ever, and you can believe that this year, the festival will be sold out again. As a festival that explores the true meaning of community, exploration, musical freedom and creativity, Lightning In A Bottle is truly a magical festival that has attendees leaving inspired.

First time ravers have so much to look forward to! Being at a rave is such a unique experience, and everybody always remembers their first one. But sometimes going to your first rave is so different than anything else you have ever been to and you get so overwhelmed with excitement that you aren’t always fully prepared. Don’t worry, we love to make sure all the rave babies have the best time possible. 

SnowGlobe was the pinnacle Winter rave event. With temperatures that dropped to 7 degrees, “winter rave” was no joke. Since the weather called for bundling up and keeping warm, creativity was pushed to the limit. Here are some of my favorite ways I saw creative expression at SnowGlobe.

5 years ago, an event transpired that forever changed the face of not just one artist, but for EDM as a whole. What started as a small party on a family farm has since grown to become one of Canada’s most beloved festivals. From August 7 -10, Shambhala will take place on that same farm, but its family has expanded to a sold out crowd of over 10,000 each year.

When I first heard about Electric Forest shutting down the DanceSafe booth all I could say was, ‘”WTF?!’” DanceSafe had been at Electric Forest in the previous years so why were they shut down this year? Reading directly from DanceSafe’s website, DanceSafe Nation’s Outreach Director Mitchell Gomez said that the Crafting Vending Coordinator sent complaints asking them to change certain services (in which they immediately complied to).
