Sometimes it seems like the West Coast of the US gets all of the good festivals. EDC Las Vegas, Beyond Wonderland, Coachella, Burning Man and countless shows at Red Rocks live in the festival spotlight. There are a few well-known east coast fests like Electric Zoo, EDC Orlando, Governor’s Ball and Ultra Miami, but there are so many more opportunities to rave on this side of the country! Here are a couple of East Coast festivals you have to check out!
Moonrise Festival
Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Date: August 6-7, 2022
Moonrise has been shaking the ground at Pimlico Race Course since 2014.This two day, non-camping fest will transport you to a magical world of bass. If you’re looking for some dirty dubstep, check out the Solar Tent. The other two stages, Lunar and Stellar, will deliver this year with big names including Rezz, Subtronics and Zedd.
Project GLOW
Location: Washington D.C. and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Philadelphia: October 1-2, 2022
The inaugural Project GLOW in Washington D.C. was a huge success this past May. But Insomniac didn’t stop there with this event. In October, the house festival will make an appearance at Subaru Park in Philadelphia. Featuring high profile artists like Martin Garrix and Illenium, we have high hopes for the second Project GLOW.
Firefly Music Festival
Location: Dover, Delaware
Dates: September 22-25, 2022
For those of you who like a little more musical variety at festivals, there’s Firefly. With the tenth anniversary coming up this September, Firefly is celebrating alongside Porter Robinson, Dua Lipa and Green Day. Catch acoustic sets at the Treehouse, back to back DJs all night at the Nest, or camp out at one of the five other large stages.
Breakaway Music Festival
Location: Charlotte, North Carolina
Dates: August 26-27, 2022
Breakaway is a smaller festival but it happens five times a year in five different cities! Breakaway North Carolina is the only east coast location, however, you can also catch this show in Missouri, Ohio, Michigan and California. You’ll find Tiesto and Sullivan King among other great names on this year’s NC lineup.
Elements Music and Arts Festival
Location: Long Pond, Pennsylvania
Dates: August 18-22, 2022
This unique festival offers ravers a weekend of music, art and wellness. Stages named after the four elements, water, air, fire and earth, feature different genres of EDM. The 2022 lineup has a great selection of DJs like Zeds Dead and Liquid Stranger. If you ever need a break from headbanging, you can interact with the art or take a yoga class!
Imagine Music Festival
Location: Kingston Downs, Georgia
Dates: September 15-18, 2022
This four day camping fest is truly an experience. Between the four stages, pool parties, rides, and live art, I doubt you’ll ever find yourself wishing there was more to do at Imagine. With performers including Excision, GRiZ and Ganja White Night, this year’s lineup is totally stacked.
