Christmas is the time of year where giving is better than receiving and there’s nothing I love more than putting a smile on everyone’s faces! You want to make sure that you got something for everyone on your list, but what happens when you don’t know your raver friends as well as you thought you did? Or what your new rave bae likes? I don’t know about you, but I think raver’s are some of the easiest people to shop for because there are so many choices and opportunities to get creative! Check out some of my Christmas gift ideas that you can give to your loved ones this Christmas
Do you know how expensive kandi supplies can get?! If your friend/significant other is a kandi kid, pony beads and glass beads would make a great gift! Pony bead boxes from Michael’s usually run up to $20, but they usually have a 40-50% off coupon on their mobile application or you can also get an assorted box at Walmart for $13. Or if you know their color preferences, you can snag individual colors in packs of 500 for less than $3 at www.ponybeadstore.com! I honestly never thought that simple beads would make me the happiest person alive when they go on sale for 50% off, but when they’re FREE?! How can anyone resist that!
I’ve recently become a furry hood addict and it has been draining my account like crazy. There are all kinds of hoods and it makes a great gift as it’s pretty affordable and every raver needs one to help keep them a little warmer on chilly festival nights!
What’s great about raving is that there are hobbies that come out of it: kandi making, costume creation, gloving, orbiting, hooping…and many more! If you think light shows are amazing, encourage your friends to test the waters and get their groove on! Being an artist isn’t as easy as it may seem when you’re on the
receiving end, so practicing lightshows will give you and a loved one a newfound appreciation of light artists as events! Lightshow toys range from a doable $19.99 which says, “Here, try this out to see if you like it” to $100+ which says, “You better like it and be a pro by next month”. Either way, it helps motivate individuals to be good at something other than being quick at buying event tickets XD
Everyone seems to be shuffling these days, so make your smooth dance moves look 5 times cooler than everyone else’s with these awesome LED shoes from Electric Styles! These kicks light up to red, yellow, green, blue, purple, aqua, white, and can also color change continuously too. These run a little small so if you’re getting it for your lady, make sure to order a half size up if you’re in between!
I’m going to be honest with you: I have an addiction to rave gear. I go shopping more for rave outfits than for regular clothes! Nothing excites me more than the opportunity to have a custom made outfit that was designed just for me and no outlet can satisfy that need. So if you’re dating someone who loves to dress up, find out what they love and reach out to Electric Laundry or LipglossClubWear (just to name some) for a special custom made outfit. Or if you have no idea what they want, you can always check out what iHeartRaves came up with if you need some inspirations
**cough* Above & Beyond Acoustic show at the Greek in Berkeley would make a great Christmas/Birthday gift **cough**
There are always tickets going on sale months before the show so if you don’t have anything else to give or spent all your money on tickets, might as well gift one to someone special! Back in October I realized that I had spare tickets to see Kaskade since I bought my boyfriend and I meet & greet tickets for our anniversary, so I decided to give away one of my general admission ticket to my best friend for her birthday! She was so happy to have seen Kaskade for free and I can tell you now that seeing her happy made me the happiest person alive
I don’t really expect anyone to give me anything for Christmas, but I always scramble to find the perfect gift for my friends and family. I know I can always count on iHeartRaves to have the perfect gift for my raver friends, but I also know that if I can’t come up with anything else, I can always turn to something I’m good at: making kandi. So if you don’t think any of these things will make your friend happy, just make something for them! Because whether or not you find something to give to your loved ones for Christmas, remember that it’s always the thought that counts! It’s also most memorable when you make memories with one another rather than just being materialistic. I love each and everyone of you and hope you all find the perfect gifts!
Living life like a breeze in the Bay Area, sharing the love to my fellow ravers
